Dr. Éva Farkas

I believe that learning leads to the development of a freer, more democratic, healthier, richer, and happier society.

Regarding my qualification or, mainly regarding my professional identity, I am an Andragogist, an adult learning professional.

 I work as an educator, supervisor, learning outcomes-based curriculum designer, expert, mentor, consultant, and researcher in the fields of adult education, vocational education and training, and higher education.

Areas of expertise:
– structural, content, and methodological development of adult learning and vocational education and training
– validation of learning outcomes acquired in non-formal and informal learning environments
– learning outcomes-based curriculum design and learning management

Talent management and the education of young professionals play an extremely important role in my life. My greatest success and pleasure is that many of my former university students are now recognized professionals in adult education or higher education.

News

I have a wide range of professional and scientific activities. In addition to teaching in universities and adult education, I also carry out research and extensive expert activities in the field of adult education and vocational education and training. I train teachers in vocational education and training and higher education. I am actively involved in the academic and professional community life of adult learning and vocational education and training at the national and international levels. In recent years, my professional interests and activities have focused on learning outcomes-based curriculum design and learning and development in VET and higher education.

TEACHING ACTIVITY

I have been working in adult education and vocational education and training since 1998 and in higher education since 2000. Currently, I am a supervisor and a teacher at the Doctoral School of Education, University of Szeged, Hungary.

I have been working in the field of learning outcomes-based curriculum design and learning management and teaching methodology training for VET and higher education teachers since 2012.

ACADEMIC ACTIVITY

I play a major role in talent management and the education of young professionals. I regularly prepare university students for the National Scientific Students Associations Conferences, and I am a supervisor at the Doctoral School of Education, University of Szeged, Hungary.

I am actively involved in the academic and professional community life of adult learning and vocational education and training at the national and international levels.

Expert activity

My expert activity includes methodological support for learning outcomes-based curriculum design and learning management, development of adult education programmes, professional support for adult education organisations, and system-level development of vocational education and training.

Research and surveys

My research interest focuses on three topics: Structural, content, and methodological development of vocational education and training and adult learning, Validation of learning outcomes acquired in non-formal learning environments, and Learning outcomes-based curriculum design and learning management.

Publications

I have written nearly 200 publications. Some of them are academic and research publications in the field of adult learning and vocational education and training. Others are practical guides to support adult learning professionals to make their teaching practice more effective.
