About
I believe that learning leads to the development of a freer, more democratic, healthier, richer, and happier society. Regarding my qualification or, mainly regarding my professional identity, I am an Andragogist, an adult learning professional. I work in various fields of adult education, vocational education and training, and higher education as an educator, supervisor, learning outcomes-based curriculum designer, expert, mentor, consultant, and researcher.
Areas of expertise
– structural, content, and methodological development of adult learning and vocational education and training
– validation of learning outcomes acquired in non-formal and informal learning environments
– learning outcomes-based curriculum design and learning management
Talent management and the education of young professionals play an extremely important role in my life. My greatest success and pleasure is that many of my former university students are now recognized professionals in adult education or higher education.
In recognition of my national and international work in the fields of adult learning, I was inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education Hall of Fame (IACEHOF) in 2019.
I was a member of the Board of Directors of the IACEHOF from 2020 to 2022.
I had the honor and privilege of being elected President of the Board of Directors in September 2022. To serve the Hall of Fame community entails not only recognition but also a great deal of responsibility, which motivates and inspires me to continue my work to promote the growth and professionalism of the Hall of Fame, raise awareness of the values and achievements of adult learning, and recognize professionals who have excelled in the field of adult and continuing education.
I am aware that not all social problems can be resolved by adult learning, however, it can be a powerful tool in initiating positive changes. It is widely accepted and has been demonstrated that learning creates opportunities and chances for adults to improve their lives and reduces poverty, helplessness and oppression.
